HEALTHY AGING & INDEPENDENCE

Helping people stay strong, steady and independent.

Aging well is about more than adding years to life. It is about protecting the strength, mobility, confidence and independence that make everyday life possible.

AMAX Community Foundation supports older adults through movement, fall-prevention, balance, mobility, education and community-based wellness programs designed to help people continue doing more of what matters to them.

HEALTHY AGING CAN SUPPORT STRENGTH.
BALANCE.
MOBILITY.
INDEPENDENCE.

Helping people move with more confidence at every stage of aging.

WHY IT MATTERS

Independence is built through everyday abilities.

Getting out of a chair. Walking across a room. Climbing a step. Reaching for something overhead. Carrying groceries. Staying steady when turning. These everyday movements are easy to take for granted until they become difficult.

Healthy aging programs can help older adults maintain the physical abilities and confidence that support everyday life, social connection and continued independence.

WHAT WE FOCUS ON

Practical wellness for everyday life.

Our healthy aging initiatives are designed around the abilities that help people move safely, stay engaged and remain as independent as possible.

01

Strength

Building and maintaining the strength needed for standing, walking, carrying and everyday movement.

02

Balance

Practicing stability, weight shifting and movement control to support safer mobility.

03

Mobility

Supporting joint movement, flexibility and the ability to move more comfortably.

04

Walking

Supporting endurance, confidence, gait and the ability to remain active in everyday environments.

05

Fall Prevention

Building awareness, strength and balance while helping participants better understand factors that can contribute to falls.

06

Confidence

Helping people feel more capable and secure while participating in everyday movement and activity.

FALL PREVENTION

Confidence begins with feeling steady.

Falls can change the way someone moves, socializes and participates in everyday life. Even the fear of falling can cause people to become less active, which may contribute to further loss of strength and confidence.

Our fall-prevention initiatives combine practical movement, balance work, strength and education to help older adults feel more secure in their daily activities.

PROGRAMS MAY INCLUDE
01 Balance and stability exercises
02 Lower-body strengthening
03 Walking and turning practice
04 Functional movement education
05 Fall-risk awareness and prevention education

CONTINUING AFTER REHABILITATION

Active Living helps support what comes next.

Some older adults complete physical or occupational therapy but still benefit from continued movement, strength, walking, mobility and confidence-building support.

Active Living is designed to help bridge the gap between formal rehabilitation and long-term independence through non-clinical wellness and functional movement support.

01 Therapy Clinical rehabilitation
02 Active Living Continued movement and strength
03 Independence Confidence in everyday life

WHO WE SUPPORT

Programs can be adapted for different ability levels, environments and stages of aging.

FOR FAMILIES & CAREGIVERS

Supporting independence can support the whole family.

Families often notice changes before anyone else: less walking, difficulty standing, fear of falling, reduced activity or a growing need for assistance with everyday tasks.

Healthy aging programs can provide another layer of support by helping older adults stay engaged in appropriate movement and continue working toward greater strength and confidence.
